Pokémon Company International is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a music headline featuring American pop singer Katy Perry.

P25 Music, curated by Universal Music Group (UMG), will be working with award-winning artists like Perry. She will be the premier collaborator in the yearlong music campaign.

Vice President of Marketing at Pokémon Colin Palmer said: “In Katy Perry, we see a kindred spirit to Pokémon, whose world is bright, fun and uplifting.”

Perry’s music will accompany any and all Pokémon and fan-focused activations. “It is an honor to be chosen to help celebrate a franchise that has given me so much joy in the last 25 years, and to be able to watch it evolve in the ways it’s provided that kind of electric joy for the kids in my life and around the world,” she said.

The Japanese franchise is also working with Build-A-Bear Workshop, General Mills, Levi’s, and McDonald’s to celebrate its quarter of a century celebrations. Pokémon is also inviting fans to relive the most iconic moments at Pokémon World.

If that wasn’t enough, the company is also launching 25-year-anniversary-themed trading cards, including special edition oversize cards commemorating the monumental milestone. Skateboards, designed by Bear Walker, will also be made available at the Pokémon Center starting from Jan. 19.

Pokémon promised fans that it will be launching anniversary-themed activations throughout the year, including video games, mobile apps and merchandise. There will be themed announcements on Pokémon GO and Pokémon Masters EX for players to unlock new journeys.
