The Strokes lead singer pledged his support for #MusiciansforPalestine, which calls for an end to human rights abuses in Palestine and worldwide.
The American rock band also recently took to Twitter to express their solidarity with Palestinians following a series of deadly Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza strip.
“As musicians, we cannot be silent. Today it is essential that we stand with Palestine,” the statement, which was signed by the French-Algerian producer and DJ, says.
In 2018, the US rapper wrote an op-ed for Time magazine titled “What Palestine Taught Me About American Racism,” following his trip to Palestine.
The R&B duo, which is made up of Bahraini-Canadian singer Majid Al-Maskati and Canadian producer Jordan Ullman, also signed the letter.
The iconic American singer signed the letter and has previously expressed her support for Palestine, performing at a benefit with Thurston Moore (another ‘Musicians for Palestine’ signee) and the Libertines in 2018.
