DUBAI: Dubai Customs has thwarted two separate attempts to smuggle controlled drugs and restricted medications via air shipments, resulting in the seizure of 171,600 pills.
The emirate’s custom discovered 96,600 pills of the prohibited drug Cipralex hidden in a cargo during the first operation, Emirates News Agency reported on Tuesday.
The second operation foiled another smuggling attempt containing 75,000 pills of the prohibited drug Pregabalin.
The latest seizures are part of Dubai Customs’ efforts to protect the community and the national economy, WAM reported.
